March 17th, 2018 - We're back indoors and and on carpet for Round 2 of the 2018 RCMTC Points Series and race 2 of the RCMTC Retro Renegades Battle of the Monster Trucks. 40 trucks between two classes were on hand as the pro-mod monsters were after Pure Adrenalin to grab early season points. This was the final schedueled carpet race of the year and the drivers were out to get the best finish they could. Ethan Saunders was able to repeat his magic in qualifying, taking the top qualifier spot yet again, this time driving his new third truck entry Fast Max. The name was not new for Ethan, who deuted in the sport with that truck name but the truck was sporting and all new Freestyle RC racing chassis, a first in the series. Retro qualifying was fun as well, with Dan DeFalco's USA-1 earning the TQ spot for the 8 truck straight line drag competition. It was Kyle DeFalco's Awesome Kong however taking the win over Silver Bullet to win Battle of the Monster Trucks 2. In pro-mod, Round 2 points were on the line. Fast Max was emerging as the truck to beat, but Executioner knocked him out in the semi finals. Kyle DeFalco's Executioner would meet Derrick Algieri's Storm Damagge in the racing finals. In the first Kyle/Derrick final of the year, it was Executioner grabbin the win and moving into the points lead. Storm Damage is hot on his tail though so as we head outdoors for the rest of the season, we may bbe in store for another Classic RCMTC Kyle and Derrick Battle. Stay tuned for Round 3!
