RC MONSTER TRUCK CHALLENGE POINTS SERIES
ROUND #4 COVERAGE
As we get into the hot month of July, the battle for the RC Monster Truck Challenge championship heats up as the drivers are fine tuning their trucks, getting them faster and smoother at each event so far. Round #4 at RC Madness in Enfield CT saw more of a speed track this time. The drivers would charge over a small school bus jump and then drag down a long fast straightway, turn away from each other and head down the back stretch hit a crush car jump. After landing the back stretch jump the trucks would then turn towards each other and once exiting the turn would drag to the final crush car set and the finish line. The start would be cricital today as the drivers would need to get off the line and down to the first turn as quickly and smoothly as possible, and after each round the racing got more intense. Tony Scorzafava returned with Nitemare and Radical Hunter for this round, and this event he continued to show improvement as he gets more dialed in each time. Derrick Algieri debuted the brand new Bear Foot monster truck, a new full time name and scheme replacing the Ragin Steel truck, and the big red dodge was fast. Derrick's El Diablo however was the truck to beat. After not showing the strength with El Diablo during the outdoor races as it did back in Winter Wars, the truck really came alive this weekend. El Diablo made it to the finals several times and was the most consistent on the day. Where it seemed that Maximum Destruction was heading to a 3-peat win after dominating early on, El Diablo was able to catch Max-D and grab the event win. Max-D took second while Kyle DeFalco also brought home Afterburner in 3rd. Then Dan with a solid day brought Grave Digger home 4th and Derrick again rounding out the top 5 with Bear Foot. It was another fantastic day at RC Madness and El Diablo's win will further shake up the points heading into Round #5. Thanks for checking out our coverage of Round #4!!
