Following a rainout during the month of May, the RC Monster Truck Challenge Crawford Performance Points Series returned to action on a clear hot June day to continue the battle for the 2014 points championship. 15 trucks were on hand to do battle on a challenging turning course on the dirt, a battleground which would provide from awesome racing the entire day. Kyle and the Lucas Oil Crusader continued to carry on the momentum from the Round #1 win with a final round win in the first two brackets of the day, but this Round would not be a runaway. Derrick Algieri with his lethal aresnal of trucks were right on the heels of Crusader for most of the day, with Maximum Destruction, Grave Digger, Head Crusher and Grim Reaper all putting in strong runs. The east coast R/C team of Mike and Luke Baylis were also out in full force this round. While their larger trucks were more challenged by the turning course, they were still able to lay down spectacular runs all day. The action came down to the final round, with Crusader and El Diablo fighting it out for the event win. Unforunately, mechnical woes would haunt El Diablo, forcing him out of the final round while leading the weekend points. Crusader was finding some bad luck with DQ's and getting defeated by Higher Education in the quarterfinals of the last bracket round of the day, but was able to hold on and get the even win over El Diablo by only 6 points!!!! Following Crusader and El Diablo was Max D in third, Grave Digger fourth and Excaliber rounding out the top 5. The action on the RC Monster Truck Challenge tour has become very competitive, the month of July would prove to be a big battle towards the championship. Enjoy the pictures and stay tuned!!
