The crucial month of August has arrived for the RCMTC competitors on the RCMTC Crawford Performance Points Series tour, it's the last chance to close in the points standings gap before the final points series race in September. 17 monsters rolled into RC Madness in Enfield CT, ready for battle. The short course nationals were at the facility the same day and due to the normal race area being used for pit space, the RCMTC switched over to the sand track for today's race. The track would not be a straight line this time however, a fast and challenging 2 jump chicago style race course was constructed. The fast turns, roller jumps into the finish line jump plus the sand racing surface really challenged these drivers today.
The racing started off with new additions to the RCMTC circuit, Fred and Matthew Leblanc, all the way down from Montreal, Canada!! Their 3 truck team made some good runs all day long in the first ever competition race. Higher Education started off the day strong by winning Bracket round #1 and finishing second in bracket round #2. The black and green wrecking machine known as the Grave Digger was also strong today and won bracket round #3. Following the halftime break, it was current points leader Lucas Oil Crusader bouncing back and winning bracket round #4, Excaliber taking round 5 and Higher Education again winning in Round #6. Higher Education was able to stay strong for the whole day and grab the overall event win!! Max-D finished closely behind in 2nd, Crusader 3rd, Excaliber 4th and Grave Digger rounded out the top 5. The win for Higher Education brings Dan tied in 2nd place with Max-D and only 95 points behind the Lucas Oil Crusader. It will come down to the points series finale next month, who will get it?!?!
