After a stormy day forced the racing action inside, RCMTC Points Series Round #5 was ready to rock and roll on the inside carpet track at R/C Madness. The drivers had to adjust to the high grip carpet surface after being on dirt the last two events as they would battle it out on a modified J-course with an extra short lap. One driver who welcomed the track change was Kevin Adair. After grabbing the event win back at Round #2 (the only previous carpet race of the season) Kevin picked up right where he left off by grabbing the top qualifing spot with Taz. The championship round however proved to be a game changer. Dan DeFalco's Grave Digger who was qualified 12th started to surge, knocking off current Points Leader Black Stallion, something Dan needed to do to get back in the points hunt. Digger went on to get big wins against Part Time, and Mike Eaton's Zombie to meet Kyle DeFalco and Nitro Hornet (subbing for Executioner) in the finals. The Digger was able to grab the win, putting him in third place behind Derrick Algieri's Black Stallion and new Points Leader Sudden Impact. The racing action has been absolutely amazing to this point as we look towards our series finale. Can Digger make it to the top? or will Derrick finish off a strong year and grab the championship.
