The second RCMTC Retro Renegades Batte of the Monster Trucks event of 2016 saw another first for r/c retro monster truck racing..3 wide racing!! The awesome retro trucks of the RCMTC Retro Renegades division raced 3 wide in the opening competition of the day, yes 3 monster trucks racing against each other at the sae time!!! The drivers had a blast with this new racing format with close, fun and exciting side by side racing to open up the day's events. The 3 wide racing models what the real monster trucks of the TNT series did at the Houston stadium back in 1989. Following the 3 wide drag was two different turning course obstace courses for the drivers to negotiate one on one. The mud pit was of course the hit of the day to onlookers, as the trucks popped wheeiles into the "mud" modled with popcorn kernels and blasting through the pit and the awesome side by side racing action provided some fantastic moments and finishes as well. The RCMTC Retro Renegades holds races every winter indoors at RC Madness in Enfield, CT and mimicks the great leaf spring trucks of the 1980's. It's a truly great way for a beginner to break into the sport, or for a Monster Truck afficianado to relive the great trucks of yesteryear.
