RCMTC Round 1 2010

March 20th 2010 - After an awesome Winter Wars event on the indoor track, the New York RC Monster Truck Challenge series returns to RC Madness in Enfield Conneticut. This time, it's for Round #1 of the 2010 RC Monster Truck Challenge points series. This year looks to be bigger and better than last year. With more events and a stronger field of trucks, there is going to be some tight races all year long. 17 trucks were on hand on a fast and extremely loose turning course. The picture above showed the track layout the trucks hand to negotiate. First the trucks would charge over the big rollers and then head diagonally behind the outter crush car set, then they would turn in and hit the center set. After gathering control from the landing they would fly down to the white tire turning markers, swing around and hit the outer set and then one more time make the final turn and hit the center cars and cross the finish line. Derrick Algieri was turning heads all day long with his Mr. Destruction and Bounty Hunter 2 trucks. Derrick was able to win 2 rounds with Mr. Destruction and barely edge out Kyle DeFalco in the CPE Maximum Destruction for the event win by just 2 points!!! The weight of Derrick's defiance Txt-1 combined with the power the truck had was a perfect combination for this track, and Derrick records his first RCMTC win. Kyle DeFalco brought Max-D home in second place, Derrick Algieri's great day continued with a third place finish with Bounty Hunter 2, and Dan DeFalco rounds out the top 5 with Grave Digger and AMSOIL Shock Therpay which struggled with it's new powerplant on the loose dirt.
