It's been a long racing season all year since we started back at Round 1 in March, and now it's time to finally crown a champion. Saturday Semptember 25th, Barnstormers RC Raceway, and 12 of the best R/C monster trucks came ready fight for the win on a side by side twin oval track. This track featured two ovals, both lanes with left hand turns, so it gave the track a different look with the trucks turning together in the same direction. This format was run normally on the real USA Motorsports tour and even Rich Schafer's Monster Truck Challenge more recently. The trucks started on the roller jump and then onto the first crush car set. The challenge here would be landing the truck short to make the first turn, then square up and hit the second crush car set, charge down the backstretch, make the second turn and then back over the roller and final crush car set for the win.
Wtih Mr. Destruction not in attendance, this left the points series battle to Maximum Destruction and Shock Therapy. Both trucks struggled early in the opening rounds. It was trucks like Jewelz, Brutus and 2-timing emerging as strong trucks early. Jewelz with Abdul Rascoe behind the wheel won the first of six rounds today. Abdul also was able to win a round with his other truck Big Red. 2-timing really picked up performance with his new sniper chassis. Pete with 2-timing won his first final round ever today and really put in some strong runs. Kyle DeFalco's Airfoce Afterburner yet again put in another stellar performance, winning the remaining 3 rounds. Airforce Afterburner would go on to win the event, with Jewelz coming in second, and Maximum Destruction placing third. The third place effort was enough to take the 2010 points series championship and trackside hobbys grand prize. Congrats goes out to Kyle on a job well done. It's been another awesome year. We would like to thank all the competitors who came out and raced with us on this year's point series tour. You guys are great and we wouldn't be able to put on great events without great racers. Congrats again to the CPE Max-D team and we look foward to an awesome world finals coming up October 24th!!
