With the first day of February, 2014 comes the start of the brand new RC Monster Truck Challenge of New York racing season. We saw an unbelieveable year of action in 2013 and the drivers and trucks were ready to up the bar this year and set the tone for what looks to be another amazing year. 23 pro-mod and 8 Retro Regnedage monster trucks were on hand to do battle on a challenging St. Louis style course (side by side ovals) and the racing action was the amazing, challenging , high flying fun that Winter Wars is known to bring. For the drivers, the racing surface would change as they get rare time on an indoor carpet track as opposed to an outdoor dirt track and they all seemed to handle the change well as there were plenty of side by side finishes and great moments all day. The RCMTC Retro Renegades were a blast as they returned with High flying wheelies and side by side car crunching racing. It was Abdul Rascoe's new Texas Toy winning a tie breaker with Dan's Stomper to take the racing win for retro. In pro-mod the racing was tough all the way through, but it was Derrick Algieri in the incredible El Diablo truck standing out. The truck that has been a mega force on the RCMTC-NY circuit came out to prove he's ready for 2014 by grabbing the pro-mod racing win. Not far behind in second place was Lucas Oil Crusader and taking third was Excaliber. It was without a doubt a great start to this year and we can't wait to get the rest of the season going.
