Today's race track was the main attraction of the event and was one of the most competitive and challenging tracks ran all year. The track featured many jumps, turns and corners as well as a crossover jump! One lane on the track would jump right over the other and provided for man exciting moements throughout the day. The racing passes got better and better throughout the day with four rounds of racing that produced with many exciting finishes. Kyle DeFalco and Air Force Afterburner has won the last 3 world finals racing championships in a row and looked to be the truck to beat again, the truck was just coming off a round 5 win and looking strong. Derrick Algieri was looking strong as well with Mr. Destruction and the Built Ford Tough truck as well as the defending series champ Shock Therapy. AMSOIL fell into some drivetrain problems late which prevented a top 3 finish. Derrick Algieri fought hard which his trucks but came up short for the win but managed to grab both 2nd and 3rd. Kyle was able to grab the win with Afterburner, but by only a 5 point margin!!
Freestyle at this event was brought up to a whole new level and was the most exciting/destructive/most competitive freestyle we've had to date. The trucks have never been higher in the air here at the Barn. Some of the highlights included Bernie Whitney's incredible front flip with King Krunch, several Backflips from Equalizer, Mopar Madness and <r. Destruction who peroformed a backflip off a wall of steel jump with school buesses and HUGE air from Greg Noonan's run with Iron outlaw. All the runs were great and at the end of the day, it was Abdul Rascoe with Big Red coming out on top. Big Red had HUGE air combined with great saves and skilled jumps. Big Red won a tie breaker with Pete Poniatowski and Mopar Madness to grab the win with a score of 27. Congrats goes out to both Kyle DeFalco and Abdul Rasoce on their championships. Here are some pictures from this year's world finals. enjoy!!
