October 6th, 2013 - The 2013 racing season has been our best one yet. After a phenomal season opener with the two Winter Wars events and an awesome outdoor point series throughout the spring and summer, we have finally reached the biggest and best show of the year, the 2013 RC Monster Truck Challenge World Finals. 24 of the best R/C monster trucks and drivers in the northeast came together at the famed Barnstormers RC Raceway track in Chester, NY to battle it out for the RCMTC World Finals Racing and Freestyle event championships. The RCMTC World Finals has gained the reputation as pulling out some of the wildest track designs and this year was no different. Lets take a look at what the drivers would face this year.
The trucks would cross over/under each other not once but twice on this track!! Big air, tricky corners, big speed and technical driving was all required to be fast on this track today, and the racing was spectacular. The racing portion of the 2013 World Finals consisted of 5 racing bracket rounds, and right from the first round the bar was set high. Dan D got both Grave Digger and Higher Education into the final round for race #1 and right off the bat, Higher Education was established as a top contender. The truck was dialed in to this course and performing very well. Drivers Derrick Algieri and Kyle DeFalco made their case however, winning their own final rounds victories throughout the day. The racing track provided many cool moments over the crossovers as trucks jumped eachother all day, got big air and provided us with some awesome side by side racing. At the end of the day, it was the Higher Education truck that never looked back from round 1 to go on and claim the 2013 RC Monster Truck Challenge World Finals!!! Congrats goes out to the DRCR team with their CPE terminator team of trucks and a job well done to all racers in the racing competition.
